Industria successfully completes process of obtaining U.S. Small Business Administration 8(a) Certification.

CHICAGO, IL 2008 - Industria Inc. was founded in 1993, by David M. Rambhajan, a veteran-owned business.  David has successfully completed the rigorous process of obtaining the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) 8(a) certification.  We are also currently certified as a Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) with the Small Business Administration, City of Chicago, Chicago Transit Authority, and New Jersey Transit Authority.

The SBA's 8(a) Program, named for a section of the Small Business Act, is a business development program created to help small and disadvantaged businesses compete in the American economy, and to gain access to the Federal Procurement market.

The SBA's 8(a) Business Development program is intended to help small businesses be successful for the future. Companies', like Industria Inc., in a growth stage, can benefit from the wide-range of services that the program offers—support for government contractors, access to capital, management and technical assistance, along with export assistance—just to name a few.

The SBA uses a number of assistance intervention tools, ranging from contract support to low-interest loans for site acquisition, construction, and the purchase of new or upgraded equipment.

The SBA 8(a) certification also entitles Industria Inc. to be certified under the SBA Small Disadvantaged Business program. The process took the firm six months and was completed in November 2005.

There are several factors that the SBA considers before certifying small businesses. The application process is rigid to ensure the success of the firm in the chosen business area(s) and also to maintain the quality and integrity of the SBA programs and their participants. Criteria used to evaluate Industria Inc. and other 8(a) firms include: the technical and managerial experience of the applicant firm's managers, the firm's operating history, ability of the firm to access credit and capital, the firm's financial capacity, the firm's record of performance, and whether the applicant firm or individuals employed by the firm hold the requisite licenses if the firm is engaged in an industry requiring professional licensing.

This small business firm, specializing in the areas of Construction and Project Management, is enjoying its fifteen year of growth.
